What jev-1.14.0 is
Almeida listed jev-1.14.0 as jev-preview. He calls it better overall, mostly a drop-in replacement, and strongest on multilingual support, with a shout-out to people who reported language gaps. The blog describes the same release as small, subtle improvements across the board, with the largest expected gain in multilingual support.
The models page dates Jev 1.14 as available from 14 October 2026. Price is $42 per billion / $0.042 per million input tokens, output free, matching jev-1.13.0. Default context is 64k per request and 32k per question. The table lists Input as Text. GET /v1/models lists aliases; versioned ids such as jev-1.14.0 are accepted in the model field whether or not they appear in that list.

The one-week jev-latest cutover
The Jev Day blog said jev-latest would move to jev-1.14.0 in a week, because developers dislike updating dependencies. Almeida writes that 1.13.0 stays available so production apps do not break, and that it is not yet deprecated. The models page, accessed 26 October 2026, points both jev-latest and jev-preview at jev-1.14.0, and says there is no preview build. jev-1.13.0 remains a versioned id.
TypeSafe intends to give 60 days of warning before jev-1.13.0 is formally deprecated, and 30 days for jev-1.14.0. It says it will release a deprecation policy before those dates. An alias can move when a new release ships, so answers can change with no code change. Each response’s model field names the versioned id that answered. The models page says to pin a versioned id if you have tuned confidence thresholds against one build.

OpenRouter’s 1.14 post
On 15 October 2026 at 00:16 UTC, OpenRouter posted that Jev 1.14 is on OpenRouter. The post lists small overall gains, multilingual as the largest upgrade, experimental image input, and an unchanged price of $0.042 per million input tokens with output free. A follow-up links the TypeSafe blog.
The post does not print an OpenRouter model id. Earlier OpenRouter docs on this site name typesafe/jev-1.13 and ~typesafe/jev-latest. openrouter.ai/typesafe/jev-1.14 returned not found on 15 October 2026.
The internal ranking TypeSafe asked readers to treat loosely
Almeida posted that TypeSafe is sharing an internal measure of intelligence for this form factor. He asked readers not to treat it as settled, said it is likely biased toward TypeSafe’s models, and said hosted models were left out because of those providers’ data policies. The useful part, in his wording, is the relative ranking of open-weight models.
The blog repeats those caveats and says the measurement will keep changing. The text we opened does not print the table values. This article does not repeat a ranking we could not read as numbers.

[153] Jev: For the builders AND dreamers
The Jev Day blog ships jev-1.14.0 under jev-preview, with experimental images, a Box type, and longer context behind danger-zone headers. TypeSafe says jev-latest will move to jev-1.14.0 in a week, jev-1.13.0 will stay available, and it intends 60 days of warning before deprecating 1.13.0 and 30 days for 1.14.0. Images are composable through an assets map. TypeSafe says models, including Jev, perform worse on multimodality than on pure text.
Company blog, metadata timestamp 15 October 2026 00:22 UTC; the models page dates Jev 1.14 as available from 14 October 2026. The Measuring Intelligence section describes an internal ranking of open-weight models and asks readers not to treat it as settled. The text we opened does not print those scores, so this site does not repeat a table we could not read as numbers.
